Heel pain is real pain – and can make it difficult to get through the day. Your heel pain may have started days, weeks, or even months ago. That once dull ache may now feel like an intense pain. Dr. Wright can help to treat your heel problems so you can move in comfort once again.

Causes of Heel Pain

Heel pain has many causes and can be a combination of multiple problems as well. One of the most common causes of heel pain is with tendons and ligaments. The heel has multiple tendons and ligaments attached to it and has many others running along the bone. If any of these tendons or ligaments become irritated and inflamed, it can result in pain. Another common cause of heel pain is bone problems. Bone spurs are common on the heel and usually don’t cause pain. But sometimes spurs can grow too large and irritate tendons or make the heel grow into an uncomfortable shape. Occasionally spurs can even break and need to be removed. The last common cause of heel pain is nerves. Sometimes nerves can be damaged by an injury, a surgery, or even arthritis. There are multiple ways to treat nerve pain.

Once the cause of your heel pain is found, we will help you to create a treatment plan.
